 We are the Bright ones
Sprung from Stardust
wind in our wings and a song in our hearts!
We are the Light bringers, the ones who ignite soul fire
Soaring into the golden web
Encircling Mama Gaia
 Do you hear us singing at dawn?
Do you feel us, tugging at your heart cords?

 It is time, and more than time
To Sing our Songs of Light,
 To add our voices, full throttle,
to the great choir of life!

 To break the silence
To sing
 To dance
to love, accept, allow, envision
 To call the tribe spread to the directions
It is time! Wake up!
 It is time
Oh Sada, it is good!

Songs of Light

Songs of Light is my Taliswoman, the Second painting from my Color of Woman Intentional Creativity® Teacher Training in 2015, celebrating the time we claim ourselves as Artists, & move closer to sharing the method with others.  

"This is the time and space in Color of Woman to go further in your own healing journey and practice, to prepare yourself to teach in a very empowered and conscious way. ...  
"Be mindful yourself not to try to save anyone else - let them have their process without needing to fix. Just witness. Which is what you will be doing as teachers - witnessing, not fixing."  

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I loved stories, and was blessed with a mama who enjoyed reading and was curious about storiesand people from all traditions! Her mama grew up on the Columbia in the latter part of the 19th century, and spoke the trade , Chinook jargon. I treasure grandma Mary's little jargon dictionary. 

Sleeping outside, hummingbird came to wake me up, and I looked up her message in a bird medicine book. I love the image of the hummingbird whispering to the flowers, admiring each for its unique beauty & thanking them for sharing their gifts. With its ability to hover, it can slow down or speed ahead, as appropriate for the time. Northwest Natives called Hummingbird Sen Sen.

The song of the heart calls the circle, and sparks the radiance present in each ... Singing songs of Light, the chorus joins in, each with its own sacred, beautiful notes.

Talisman - an object, typically an inscribed ring or stone, that is thought to have magic powers and to bring good luck.

SOULWork

The invitation reads: " Your SOULWork Project is a culminating presentation exploring Intentional Creativity as applied to a personal interest. Plan to take 6-8 hours taking your interest to the 'next level.' Document in the way that makes sense: writing, link to a hosted URL, etc." How do we make that connection between a personal interest and IC? A good place to begin is to pull out your journal, your Medicine Basket, and  draw a couple of Story Cards.  Sit with your paintings, and inquire,  What are some of my Personal Interests and how do they dovetail with IC?  How can I serve MY beloveds and my Soul Purpose?  Perhaps do a Metacognitive Drawing around the inquiry.  I originally wrote about my SOULWork from the perspective of being a Grandmother, and using it to support my grandchildren. While that's been a part of work since the beginning, when my 4 year old grandkids added strokes (invited!) to my CoW paintings, I realize that another thread is my off...

That Risky Glaze

  Beloveds who are new to our painting community are often a bit nervous  (shakin' in our boots!)  when it's time to do the first glaze! And why not? We're got several layers on the canvas, we may really like what's there -  and now you want me to cover it up??  Ugh! How do we best explain and share the process with these new beloveds? When I took my very first  Muse class  in 2014, I was having a good time with ceremony, visioning, painting and journaling, ... Then Elisabeth told us we were going to paint over our canvas with a  Risky Glaze  - ¿paint over? ¿glaze? Yikes!!  So how do we glaze and why? Applying a glaze, a thin layer of translucent paint, is a great way to integrate what has gone before, and is a key component of our process with Intentional Creativity® It is also a simple way to add  Mothercolour , which brings harmony to the whole painting. 13 Step Prompt Cards

 When I began teaching IC classes, I had a notebook with the 13 steps, and my ideas  for that particular class. It was kind of cumbersome, and I sometimes got lost ... So I made a flow chart, moving from step to step - then hit on making prompt cards!  Viola!
